Jess Paul is a photographer and multidisciplinary artist based on the North Fork and New York City. She grew up in North Carolina before studying English and creative writing. With her literary background, she seeks to convey a strong sense of storytelling in her visual work. Utilizing digital and film, she primarily shoots weddings, live music, portraiture (including self-portraits), polaroids, and landscapes. She is deeply influenced by the natural beauty and landmarks of the North Fork and often features these subjects in her work.
Her love of instant photography has led to experiments with Polaroids and emulsion lifts. She first showed her Polaroids at the North Fork Art Collective in 2023. Her first solo show, IN AN INSTANT: MEMORIES AND MIRAGES IN BLUE, showcases her Polaroid emulsion lifts, as well as a poem and short film. IN AN INSTANT is on display at the Greenport Harbor Brewing Company (234 Carpenter Street) through April 2025.
